February 10th, 2009 in Apple by Uncle Sha
Apple wants to penetrate the vast China mobile market and it seems China Mobile ain’t budging with their demands. Recent talks between Apple and China Mobile broke down over control of the App Store. China Mobile demands that they wants control of the App Store including payment collection. They want a more cut in the iPhone sale revenues and demand that payment changed into money deposits instead of credit cards at App Store. Apple of course tried to accommodate but it seems nothing substantiated at the moment came out of the talks. The negotiations have lasted 18 months and it seems another 18 is set if China Mobile doesn’t play ball. Apple looks like has to ‘give-in’ I reckon. With 415 million subscribers, China Mobile is the largest mobile carrier and Apple can’t afford to lose any more time in the competitive mobile market.
