Apple iPad offers multitouch interaction with multimedia formats including newspapers, magazines, ebooks, textbooks, photos, movies, TV shows videos, music, word processing documents, spreadsheets, video games, and all existing iPhone apps.
It also includes a mobile version of Safari for internet browsing, as well as access to the App store, iTunes Library, iBooks store, contacts, and notepad.
Content is downloadable via WIFI and optional 3G service or synced through the user’s computer.
AT&T is currently the sole US provider of 3G wireless access for the iPad.
The iPad has a 9.7-inch (25 cm) LED backlit multi-touch display, 16 to 64 gigabytes (GB) of flash memory, Bluetooth, and a 30-pin dock connector to sync with iTunes and connect wired accessories.
Two models have been announced: one with 802.11n Wi-Fi and one with 802.11n Wi-Fi and 3G (which can connect to HSDPA cellular networks), and Assisted GPS. Both models may be purchased with three different storage capacities.
