Sprint is offering the dirt cheap notebook under its Best Buy promotion,
The Compaq’s 1040DX netbook 99 cents price is only valid if you activate the embedded EVDO module with Sprint for the one-dollar device.
The notebook comes with a 10.1 inch display with 1024 x 576 resolution, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, three-cell battery, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive.
Not bad eh, for under a buck, you’ll get a $389.99 notebook!
That is if you’re ok with the two-year 3G service agreement of $60 a month.
So basically after the calculation, $1,440 total 3G price for two years, minus the notebook price, you’re actually paying $1,050 for the whole agreement in the two year span.
