Called the Gdrive or Google Drive, this is the next app that Google wants to emulate the same success as their search engine and Gmail. Although still a rumor, the idea is to provide online storage with unlimited capacity for its users using Google powerful servers. Fact or fiction you might ask? Well we said the same thing a few years back about the limitations on the Internet, but look how advanced we are now. This is Google’s anwer to “Windows Killer”. They want to overthrone Windows desktop. The functionality experts are guessing is that, a user shall have a Google operating system, and they will be using this Gdrive to access/store their online data. Gdrive is said would be running on cloud-based storage. A desktop client which has local and online files that are always sync updated so as you can access your files anywhere. This is indeed a revolutionary idea, promising and excites me, but yet it scares me too. It is regarding the privacy issue as Google will have access to our data, and that’s frightening to me. Already Google are in the grey area with the privacy issues related to some of its current Google services. I’m not surprise if Google is a step closer to connecting all the dots.
