![]() LG launches apps store Apple started it first, then Android, and now LG is following suit. The South Korean electronics giant launched an application store for its handset.
But so far the focus is very much in Asia where the stores opens in Singapore, Australia and Malaysia. There are plans to expand to Europe and the South America, but so far no plans for the U.S. market. The store so far has 1,400 applications in 15 languages, 100 of it are free programs. The third-biggest maker of mobile phones expects their applications will hit the 2,000 marker by the end of the year. Categories include entertainment, games, productivity, education, business, finance, reference, travel, navigation, lifestyle, health care and utilities. Prices for apps at LG store or more or less the same you will find at Apple’s apps store.
