Microsoft has a new search engine calls Kumo.
Currently its still being tested internally and the technology is based on their Powerset acquisition.
Most likely the current Live Search will be rebranded with Kumo capabilities.
Microsoft PR says, “Given the depth and breadth of our current online service offering, we recognize a need to sharply define and align our online brands.”
It is rumored Live Search will also have a new name, Kumo.
Hmm to me I prefer the name Live Search to Kumo.
The latter sounds some kind of Oriental related thingie to me.

Yes, they have also acquired POWERSET a sementic wiki search engine. This could be a tough challenge for Google.
Hi Sha, I just stumbled over your interesting site. The site contains alot of cool updated info! And MS launching their own SE? Hmm, don’t have too high hopes on that strategy, and absolutely agree, Kumo doesn’t sound right,… staying with the ‘Live’ brand would be more appropriate. Anyways, even the local Rednano doesn’t seem to be doing too well,… but that’s not really a surprise right?..
