Microsoft Zune HD out this fall

You can expect a new Zune this coming fall.

Oh it will be HD ready and this portable entertainment device promises higher definition video play capabilities.

Microsoft promises, “Zune HD is the next iteration of the Zune device family and brings a new level of listening and viewing experiences to the portable media player category. The Zune music player is an integral part of Microsoft’s goal for Zune is to bring cross-platform experiences and video content to living rooms around the world.”

New features such as playback of 720p HD content on high-definition television through an HDMI docking station will be implement in the upcoming generation.

With Zune trailing to iPod 86% control of the MP3 player market, Microsoft needs all the help they can help.

The Zune will be launched and prominently featured on the Xbox Live interface.

Users will be able to download videos and songs for playback on the Zune on the Xbox Live online gaming platform.

Price for the Zune HD wasn’t disclosed.
