Sharp has launched their debut line of LED-based LCD displays. What is LED-based LCD displays you might ask? Well this LED-backlight technology allows different areas of the screen to brighten and dim separately. For one it is energy-saving, secondly these LCDs are more accurate at producing colours and has a much more wider range of viewable colours than traditional LCD TV technology. Unlike the traditional fluorescent bulb LCD TV panel which has a single back light positioned at the rear of the panel, LED LCD’s have multiple led lights scattered all around the TV and some of the newly released led panels have almost 400 LEDs positioned around the panel. Called the LC-LE700UN series, it’s available in four screen sizes. Models (availability, suggested retail price)
Key features of the Sharp LC-LE700 series
All the LE700 series, except for the 32-inch model features Aquos Net, Sharp’s Internet-based service that features access to weather, stocks, and games, among others.
