Four minutes after US Airways Flight 1549 crashed landed in the Hudson river, New York, Twitter was the first for the ground-breaking report.
New York resident Jim Hanrahan used a web social service, somewhat of a mirco blogging tool called Twitter to report of it.
His Tweet says, “I just watched a plane crash into the hudson rive in manhattan”.
From there onward, video and photos was uploaded via YouTube, next came a Wikipedia entry and even a Facebook application was formed, by various online users doing citizen reporting.
Twitter is one of the many web tools revolutionizing how social networking sites are forming, and it is set to change how we see and hear the world.
For your info all on board the plane survived the accident. It is reported problems on both engines as the cause of the failure.
