Hold on to your horses, astronomers says there may be a “water world” just 20 lightyears from Earth.

And on this world it is possible it is able to sustain intelligent alien life.

20.3 lightyears off in the constellation Libra, the fourth planet of the red dwarf star Gliese 581 is the possible watery planet I’m mentioning.

Astronomers believe the planet Gliese 581d, is actually within the liquid-water zone.

It is said the mighty planet is thought to have a mass about seven times that of Earth.

A scientist was quoted as “it could even be covered by a large and deep ocean … It is the first serious ‘water world’ candidate.”

Very exciting news right, so sci-fi like, but don’t get your hopes up though, scientist says it is likely that floating underwater life is the best thing to being unaffected by seven-G gravity of the planet.

Being seven times in mass larger than Earth, the gravity is seven times likelier there and any lifeform on land is unlikely due to the high impact bone-crunching gravity.

The planet was found using the European Southern Observatory’s telescope in La Silla, Chile.
