Apple reported selling more than 300,000 units on launch day. The internet has been unable to talk about anything else. But hold on to your seats because Apple isn’t done yet. This week they also announced the next version of the iPhone Operating system. The big story there. Multitasking. Net Neutrality advocates suffered a severe blow in court this week when a Federal Judge struck down an FCC “Cease and Desist” order against Comcast. Comcast received the order in 2008 because it had been throttling the bandwidth of Bit Torrent users. This was the first battle in a struggle for Net Neutrality. The federal court ruled that the FCC doesn’t have the authority to enforce Neutrality. In a recent survey by Arbitron and Edison Research, Americans prefer Internet over Television. The survey asked its participants which medium they would eliminate when given the choice between the two. The internet won by a narrow margin. This is in stark contrast to the same survey done ten years ago when TV won in a landslide. A lot of people were put out when Google launched Buzz. Now they’re suing because they feel their privacy was violated by the search giant. At issue in the suit is Buzz’s sharing your personal information and contact info by default.
