IGNAmazing new footage of your favorite games Skate 3, Green Day: Rock Band, UFC Undisputed 2010, and Gears of War 3. World Tech UpdateOn World Tech Update this week Microsoft introduces its Kin mobile phones, Apple updates its MacBook Pro laptops, but pushes back the international launch of the iPad, Intel executives give lukewarm predictions for tablets, Twitter introduces an ad service called Promoted Tweets, Skinput makes the entire body a touch interface, Multitoe makes the floor interactive and Simon the robot can be taught new tasks. TopTenREPORTSAfter four years of speculation, Twitter announced its monetization model this week. Sponsored Tweets. Basically big name companies like Best Buy, Starbucks and Sony will be buying spots in your search results. Sponsored tweets won’t show up in your timeline just yet. Twitter has bigger plans, but they want to gauge the reaction to this part before they roll out the rest. Microsoft gave “Project Pink” their proper names this week. The rumored phones code named “Turtle” and “Pure” were shown off officially as “Kin 1″ and “Kin 2″. Kind of reminds me of a Dr Seuss story. The phones are aimed at the “Social Generation” (which I assume means under 20) market and focus on Sharing and Social Media. Google is trying to woo business clients away from Microsoft and Apple with a business class version of Google Docs. At an event called “Google Atmosphere 2010″ the company showed off “Google Apps” to a group of CIOs. The Apps include business ready versions of Docs, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Groups, Sites and Video. Google says their new apps are better because they operate in the cloud and promoted collaboration. They also only cost 50 dollars a year per user. That’s a lot less than Microsoft Office or iWork. Facebook unwrapped its new Safety Center. The social network has come under fire recently for being too passive when it comes to online stalking, cyber bullying and sexual predators. The new safety center lays out clearly what you should do if you are receiving unwanted messages or interactions. Some groups wanted Facebook to install a “Panic Button” on every page of its site. Facebook declined to install the button. Apple upgraded its line of MacBook Pros this week. This comes after all the craziness surrounding the iPad, then all the craziness about iPhone OS4. So, there wasn’t a whole lot of craziness about this announcement. It was more like “Hey we got this too! and everybody was like “Oh cool”. They did get some really good processors though. The new Core i5 and i7 processor chips will increase the speed of the MacBook line by 50% IGNNPD numbers for March show a rebound in the gaming industry, Wii Fit apparently can cause sex addiction.
