Yahoo CFO Blake Jorgense (left) gets the chopping block from CEO Carol Bartz (right)
Yahoo! new Chief Executive Carol Bartz has flexed her muscle and exercised her first major decision in the company.
With their stocks falling and declining profits for the past three years, I guess an executive shake-up was in-order, rooting out bureaucracy within her ranks.
CFO Blake Jorgense was shown the door, while other executives will have added new roles.
NetApp Inc’s Elisa Steele is set to join Yahoo! as their new chief marketing officer and Joel Jones to become Bartz’s chief of staff.
Bartz was last quoted on her blog the future of Yahoo! plans as, “I’m singularly focused on providing you with awesome products. Period. The kind that get you so excited, you have to tell someone about them. Whether on your desktop, your mobile device, or even your TV.”
