In its third annual edition, TIME did a poll on the world’s most influential person.
Well you might be surprised, its not Barack Obama, nor TV queen Oprah Winfrey, nor any other celebrities, sportmen whatsoever, but a tech guy. It’s 4chan creator, Christopher Poole.
What is 4chan you might ask? 4chan is an English-language imageboard website. Launched back in 2003, users generally post anonymous pictures and discussion of manga and anime.
The site has been linked to internet subcultures and activism, and spawned popularization of Internet memes such as lolcats, rickrolling, and “Chocolate Rain”.
The dude Christopher Poole has been described as “the most influential web entrepreneur you’ve never heard of”.
