It seems they Royal family want to utilize the popularity of Twitter to update people of their royal engagements and what the royal family members are doing.
No, the Queen nor any of the royal family would be tweeting, but the account will be handled by their spokesperson.
The royal spokeswoman was quoted, “The intention, is that it is a news service rather than a personal voice.”
