Twitter has confirmed yesterday that Twitter was hacked about a month ago, and the hacker has gotten hold of 310 sensitive hacked confidential company documents. Some of the documents includes financial projections, confidential contracts and reports. Twitter would probably have kept quiet about the electronic break-in if not for TechCrunch leaked info about it. The financial projection that was stolen was said to forecast Twitter future revenues. It is reported by 2013, Twitter projected it would have 1 billion users and make $1.54 billion. The hacked account includes co-founder Evan Williams, his wife and other employees. Twitter however assured users information was safe and not affected. The stolen data was stored on Google Apps it seems, an online ‘e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and calendars’ software. It goes to show the vulnerability of Google’s system and also the lack of safeguard employed by Twitter staff on preventing hacking.
