Well recently there was a case where the new 3G iPhone cost a dude some $85,000. Well not the cost of the iPhone of course but his phone bills. It’s not the first time that I’ve heard people chalked up to such high figures. More and more people are not aware that data rates on your broadband is not the same as in mobile wireless data rates, even in Singapore More and more complaints are piling in as iPhone get popular and more people jumping on the wireless data bandwagon. This isn’t Apple’s fault of course, they are selling it for $299. It’s the telcos are marking up the price to profit. Does having a cool looking iPhone makes up for the high cost of being stuck in a high price 3G wireless plan for long period? Well its your choice
