Do you own a HP laptop, then you better check its battery

70,000 … holy crap, that’s a lot of batteries eh.

It seems HP has issued a voluntary battery recall as the batteries are said to be potential fire hazard.

The recall was issued as two similar separate incidents as reported by US Consumer Product Safety Commission, where the batteries overheated, ruptured and resulted in a fire.

No injuries were reported, that’s good eh, but the fire caused minor property damage.

The batteries affected are from laptops models such as Pavillion, Presario and Compaq ranges.

HP also wants to announced that if you happen to buy laptop batteries between August 2007 and March 2008, HP advises you to validate your battery to see if its affected by the recall.

If it is, HP will offer a free replacement in exchange for the potentially hazardous one.

And you know where the affected batteries was made … China.
