Lenovo has announced that a lighter and slimmer of its netbook which will soon hit the market soon. Expect the upcoming IdeaPad S10-2 to weight just over 2 pounds and less than an inch in thickness. The S10-2 will be slimmer and packed with more features than its S10 models predecessor. Users can enjoy a 10.1-inch display, larger keyboard area and is powered by Intel Atom N270 processor and comes with 1 GB of memory and a 160-GB hard drive. The OS will be Windows XP Home edition, and you’ll have the usual bells such as built-in 1.3-megapixel camera, and a six-cell battery that delivers up to six hours of power. You can get your hand on these babies by the end of May with the price said to be around $349. A 3G-equipped version is slated for release this summer. Netbook is getting popular with its appeal of the portability without the excess clutter of a laptop. Analyst says global shipments this year are expected to rise by 68.5% from 2008 for netbooks.
